Take advantage of the Indiana DNR FREE Fishing Day on September 27!
Bring a friend and introduce them to Scouting and fishing. Bring your own equipment, if you have it.
In 2025, Indiana has three Free Fishing Days where residents can fish public waters without a license: May 4, June 7-8, and September 27.
- Cub Scouts, a part of Scouting America for ages 5-10, can utilize these days toward earning the Summertime Fun award while learning about fishing. All other fishing regulations, like bag limits and size limits, still apply. To view Summertime Fun award requires, visit here.
- Scouts BSA youth can use these opportunities to brush up on their fishing skills or get the Fishing merit badge underway.
